Curriculum Maps

At Mount Pleasant we provide a broad, inspiring and balanced curriculum based on the changes made to the National Curriculum (2014) in all school years. We promote a cross curricular topic approach which is well planned to ensure coverage of knowledge and skills in both English and Maths, as well as foundation subjects. Our Nursery and Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which is organised into seven areas of learning.  These form the foundations for the subjects of the curriculum for older children.

Please click on the links below to access the curriculum maps for each term of the academic year. Whilst our school is committed to a ‘topic’ approach, we value the study of each subject separately. Therefore we have clear aims for each subject, which are purposely linked through the theme of a class topic. These topics are developed year on year, in consultation with the children.
