Welcome to Little Learners

Welcome to Little Learners our two year old provision, our aim is to provide your child with a firm foundation on which they can build their future. Your child will be assigned a Key Person. Their role is to ensure that your child's care and learning is tailored to meet their individual needs and to help them in becoming familiar with the setting. They will also offer you support in guiding your child's development at home. We do, however, have a strong commitment to working as a team, so if your child's key person is not available, please speak to another member of staff if you have any worries or concerns.

Every child at Mount Pleasant deserves the best possible start in life with support that enables them to fulfil their potential.  Young children learn through active play and their desire to investigate their surroundings with all of their senses. Children need endless play opportunities to repeat movements and interests, to make choices and decisions and make sense of the world. Sessions and Routines

Little Learners sessions are available as follows:

5 Morning Sessions      -     8:45am - 11:45am

  OR

5 Afternoon Sessions   -     12:30pm - 3:30pm

To ensure your child has the opportunity to get the most out of nursery, it is essential that they attend every session and arrive on time so they do not miss any play/learning experiences. This also helps you and your family to establish a good routine and supports your child in preparation for starting nursery the school term after their third birthday.

We provide a healthy snack during the session such as fresh fruit/vegetable sticks with a choice of milk and water to drink (water is available throughout the session). We use this opportunity to develop social skills and interaction.

Aprons are provided for wet and messy activities along with waterproof suits for use when the children are playing outdoors. We encourage outdoor play experiences in all weathers.

At the end of the session it is important to collect your child at the correct time. If a different person is picking up your child please let a member of staff know.
